A photo of a little jumping spider I found in our kitchen when we lived in Belize. I really love these little spiders.
Found this little guy in the house today, didn’t want him to get stepped on so tried to move it outside. I got my piece of paper and tried to slide the caterpillar on to it, but as soon as I touched it the thing twitched and jumped.
Still not sure what to call him, tried looking for info online but couldn’t find anything. So if anyone can help identify him.
Saw these little things making the most amazing funnel shaped nest. Of course I didn’t want to get to close because I didn’t want to get stung. After speaking to one of the gardeners he told me that they are actually bees and have no sting. Their proper name is Tetragonisca anugustula, apparently they make amazing honey, the only problem is they are really small so the amount of honey they make is a really little, in a year they can make up to 1kg of honey.
I could be completely wrong but with all the research I have done online this is an Orange Barred Sulphur Butterfly, please leave me a comment and let me know if I am wrong.
